AI tool guides, explainers and comparisons
Guides are the editorial layer on top of the catalog. They are written from the same verified profiles as the tool pages: official pricing pages, docs and repositories, checked on the dates shown. Nothing here is sponsored and nothing is ranked by payment.
There are five kinds: category guides that explain the differences inside a group of tools, head-to-head comparisons of two tools people actually choose between, best-of lists for a specific job, explainers for terms such as MCP server or context window, and extension hubs for coding agents.
Explainers 7
What a tool or standard is, in plain words, with prices from our verified profiles.
Category guides 7
Our picks per category, compared by price, free tiers and platforms.
Best tools by task 13
Ranked picks for one job, such as text to speech or meeting notes, from tools that actually do it.
Head-to-head comparisons 39
Two tools, one verdict, a side-by-side table and our benchmark where we have one.
Extension hubs 5
Skills, plugins, MCP servers and rules for coding agents, grouped and explained.
What is in the guides section
7 category guides, 41 comparisons (for example Claude vs ChatGPT, Cursor vs Claude Code, Runway vs Pika), 13 best-of lists (AI logo generators, resume builders, meeting assistants and more), 7 explainers and 5 extension hubs. Each guide links back to the tool pages it is built on.
How a comparison is written
We put the two tools side by side on the facts that change the choice: context or output limits per plan, how usage limits work, what the free tiers include, and price per seat. Where we have not tested something we say so rather than fill the gap.
Which guide to open
If you are choosing a category, start with its category guide. If you have two names in mind, open the comparison. If you want a shortlist for one job, open the best-of list. If a term is unclear, read the explainer.
FAQ
Are the guides sponsored?
No. There are no paid placements, affiliate rankings or sponsored scores; the method is on the How we review page.
How often are guides updated?
Prices in a guide are re-checked with the underlying tool profiles, about every 7 days; the check date is shown on each page.
Can I request a comparison?
Yes, via the submit page. We write comparisons for pairs people search for and where both tools have verified pricing.
