People step away from hiData over credit metering and storage. All work consumes credits, the Free workspace holds just 10 MB, and the FAQ says limits on Free, Plus and Pro may be adjusted. The privacy policy also says data may be used to train algorithms, which matters if your files are sensitive. An account is required.
Notion AI is the closest if your files already live in a workspace: its Plus plan is $12 per member per month, and it covers writing, workspace search, research and meeting notes. ChatGPT handles spreadsheets and documents through chat; Plus is $20 per user per month and a free tier exists. Google Gemini is the cheapest listed entry point, with Google AI Plus at $4.99 per user per month and a free version with lower limits. None of them is specifically a data-to-slides workspace like hiData, so test your own files first.
"Better suited" below is based on documented features and pricing from our verified profiles, not on a head-to-head test. Prices are USD as published by each vendor.

Full AI needs Business or Enterprise, and even there a rolling six-hour and monthly usage allowance applies; premium models, Custom Agents and Workers consume separately purchased Notion credits.
Almost every tool (uploads, images, voice, deep research, Codex) has plan-dependent usage caps that OpenAI states can change over time, and the API is billed separately from every ChatGPT subscription.
Usage is governed by compute-based limits that refresh every 5 hours up to a weekly cap, and free-tier chats with Keep Activity on are used to train Google models with human review.
