Coral: Pricing, Features & Best Use Cases

Open-source SQL data engine that lets AI agents query APIs, databases and files through one interface, over MCP or CLI.

Who should use Coral

Coral suits teams building AI agents that need to query several APIs and databases with SQL, free when self-hosted or $249 a month hosted. Based on the vendor's documentation, not on a hands-on test.

Best for: Developers running agents on internal data

Also a good fit for

  • Teams wanting cheaper agent retrieval

Consider another tool if open-source tier has community support only

Or if

  • Team plan is $249/month plus $0.005 per query above 50,000
  • Enterprise pricing requires contacting sales

What is Coral, and how does it work?

Coral turns APIs, databases and files into read-only tables that agents can query together with SQL. It handles authentication, pagination and rate limits and plugs into agents over MCP or a CLI. It is available as a free self-hosted open-source project (Apache 2.0) and as a hosted Team plan, with custom Enterprise plans.
