What is Crunchbase, and how does it work?

Crunchbase is a private-market data platform that tracks companies, funding rounds, acquisitions, leadership changes and product launches. It layers AI prediction models, trained on its historical data, on top to forecast funding, growth, acquisition and IPO likelihood. Users can search companies or ask the Scout assistant natural-language questions. The data is also available through the Crunchbase API, an MCP server, data enrichment and data licensing products.
