What OpenUsage is

OpenUsage tracks how much of your AI subscriptions you have used: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Antigravity, Copilot and Grok sign in with OAuth; Ollama, OpenCode, OpenRouter and Z.ai use API keys. It shows only the limits and dollar values each provider's own API reports, stores tokens in its own Keychain service and updates itself through signed Sparkle updates.

Permissions and security

What it can access

  • Stores OAuth tokens and API keys in the app's own Keychain service
  • Reads nothing that belongs to other tools, per the README

Security notes from the maintainers

  • OpenRouter balance needs a Management key

Review the source before granting an agent access to credentials or production systems. We document what the maintainers state; we do not audit code.

Limitations

  • Shows only what each provider's API reports; no per-model breakdown beyond that
