OktoLabs is free and open source, but you carry the operational side. It needs a local pip or Docker install with Python tooling, there is no hosted or web version, Okto Pulse is only at v0.2.6, and no pricing or support plans are published, so there are no SLAs. Your agents and their model subscriptions are a separate cost.
Cursor is the hosted editor route: an AI code editor with agents and code review, Individual (Pro) usage-based from $20 per month, with a free Hobby tier. GitHub Copilot starts at Copilot Pro, $10 per user per month, and has a free tier; it covers completions, chat and agent features. Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf) is a full IDE that manages local and cloud agents, Pro at $20 per month, free tier available. Claude, Pro at $20 per user per month with a free plan, is the assistant itself. These are products to code with, not tools for governing specs and tasks across agents the way OktoLabs describes.
"Better suited" below is based on documented features and pricing from our verified profiles, not on a head-to-head test. Prices are USD as published by each vendor.
Taken from the documented limitations in our OktoLabs (Okto Pulse, Nexus, Neuron) profile.
| Tool | Starting price | Free tier | Platforms | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OktoLabs (Okto Pulse, Nexus, Neuron) (this page) | Not published | Yes | Desktop, API | Everything runs locally via pip or Docker with no hosted version, and the products are early-stage (Pulse v0.2.6). |
| Cursor | From $20/mo (Individual (Pro)) | Yes | Desktop | Hobby has only limited Agent requests, and usage beyond the included amount is billed on demand. |
| GitHub Copilot | $10/mo (Copilot Pro) | Yes | Web, Desktop, Mobile | Chat, agents, code review and CLI all draw from a monthly GitHub AI Credits allowance that varies by model and task, so heavy agent use can exhaust a plan mid-month and require paid extra usage or an upgrade. |
| Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf) | $20/mo (Pro) | Yes | Desktop | Free plan has light agent quota and limited model availability; enterprise features require contact. |
| Claude | $20/mo (Pro) | Yes | Web, Desktop, Mobile, API | All plans have usage limits that reset on a schedule; the paid chat subscription does not include API access, which is billed separately per token. |
