Productivity & writing · alternatives
NoteRich stores notes in your browser, which is the reason some people stay and others leave. Data is tied to browser storage, so you must back up regularly. The Free plan stops at 5 workspaces and a small knowledge base for AI search, and unlimited workspaces and PDF export need the Pro license. The Pro price is also unclear: the pricing page shows $19.90 while the homepage shows $39.90. AI analysis needs sign-in per the pricing page, and the docs page was not available.
Notion AI puts AI writing, workspace search, research and meeting notes inside Notion. Its Plus plan is $12 per month per member and there is a free tier, so it suits people who want their notes in an account rather than in one browser. Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) is Google's research partner that answers questions and builds summaries, audio and slides grounded in your own sources; it has a free tier, and a starting price is not stated in our verified data.
The trade-off is control. NoteRich keeps notes local and offline-first; both alternatives are built around an account.
"Better suited" below is based on documented features and pricing from our verified profiles, not on a head-to-head test. Prices are USD as published by each vendor.
