Archyl's free Developer plan needs no credit card, but moving up is where people hesitate. Business and Scale are priced per editor per month and the amounts were not visible when we checked, team collaboration and conformance rules need a paid plan, and monthly AI usage limits apply unless you bring your own AI provider. SOC 2 Type II is listed as in progress. Prices checked on 2026-09-29.
GitHub Copilot is the cheaper listed option: Copilot Pro is $10 per user per month, with 1,500 total monthly AI credits and a free tier. Cursor's Individual (Pro) plan is $20 per month and also has a free tier. Both are assistants for writing code inside your editor rather than tools for documenting architecture, so they replace Archyl only if your need is AI help with code.
"Better suited" below is based on documented features and pricing from our verified profiles, not on a head-to-head test. Prices are USD as published by each vendor.

Why people look beyond Archyl
Paid plans are per editor per month Collaboration costs per seat
Team collaboration and conformance rules need paid plans AI use is capped
Monthly AI usage limits apply on plans Bills grow with team size
Taken from the documented limitations in our Archyl profile.
Chat, agents, code review and CLI all draw from a monthly GitHub AI Credits allowance that varies by model and task, so heavy agent use can exhaust a plan mid-month and require paid extra usage or an upgrade.
