typescript-lsp connects the TypeScript/JavaScript language server to Claude Code, giving it code intelligence and diagnostics for ts, .tsx, .js, .jsx, .mts, .cts, .mjs, .cjs files. The plugin only wires up the server; the server binary must be installed separately.
What it does
Where TypeScript LSP runs and what it adds, from its documentation
Registers the typescript-language-server language server (command: typescript-language-server --stdio) via the marketplace lspServers entry
Maps file extensions to the language: .ts, ..tsx, ..js, ..jsx, ..mts, ..cts, ..mjs, ..cjs
Gives Claude Code code intelligence and diagnostics for TypeScript/JavaScript projects
When to use it
Good fit
Working in a TypeScript/JavaScript codebase where Claude Code should use real language-server analysis
Wanting diagnostics and navigation from typescript-language-server without leaving Claude Code
Not for
Projects in other languages (it only maps the extensions listed)
Setups where you cannot install the typescript-language-server binary on PATH
How to install TypeScript LSP
You need: Claude Code; typescript-language-server binary on PATH; Node.js / npm (or yarn)
Install the language server binary first (the plugin does not bundle it):
