Works in two steps: write an algorithmic philosophy as a Markdown manifesto, then express it as p5.js code. Output is an interactive HTML viewer plus a JS file of generative algorithms. It asks for original work rather than copying existing artists.
What it does
Where Algorithmic Art runs and what it adds, from its documentation
Writes a named algorithmic philosophy (.md) for the piece
Generates p5.js sketches (.js) built on seeded randomness, noise fields, particles and flows
Produces an interactive HTML viewer with parameter controls
Supports seed-based variations and exploration of the same philosophy
Instructs reading the bundled template before implementing
When to use it
Good fit
Asked for generative art, flow fields or particle systems
Wanting an interactive, seed-explorable art piece
Not for
Static image or poster design (see canvas-design)
Copying a specific existing artist's work
How to install Algorithmic Art
You need: Browser able to open the HTML viewer (p5.js)
Register the marketplace in Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add anthropics/skills
Install the bundle that contains it: /plugin install example-skills@anthropic-agent-skills
Or copy the skill folder to ~/.claude/skills/algorithmic-art/ (personal) or .claude/skills/algorithmic-art/ (project)
Mention the task in a prompt; Claude loads the skill automatically when the SKILL.md description matches
Permissions and security
What it can access
Writes .md, .html and .js files via Claude Code's normal file tools
