The common complaints about TimeBolt are specific. Free exports are watermarked, and the free plan has no XML or NLE export and no project saving, so you cannot really publish from it. Filler-word removal through UMCheck is billed pay-per-use at $0.03 per minute of video on top of the plan, and the app is desktop only, Mac and Windows. Prices checked on 2026-09-29.
Descript takes a different route to the same job: it edits video and podcasts by editing a transcript, with filler-word removal (limited) and Studio Sound on its Hobbyist plan at $16 per editor billed annually, or $24 billed monthly, with watermark-free 1080p export and a free plan. Runway is not a silence cutter; it is an AI creative platform for generating and editing video, images and audio. Its Standard plan is $15 per user per month with 625 credits that do not roll over, and it also has a free plan.

Descript and Runway both list a free plan in our catalog. TimeBolt's own free version works but watermarks exports.
Descript lists Remove Filler Words (limited) in its Hobbyist plan at $16 per editor billed annually. In TimeBolt, filler removal through UMCheck costs $0.03 per minute of video.
Watermarked free exports, no XML export or project saving on Free, pay-per-use UMCheck charges and the lack of Linux or mobile support.
Not directly. Runway generates and edits video, images and audio with AI, starting at $15 per user per month on Standard, so it suits a different job than jump-cutting long recordings.
