The Apify MCP Server lets an AI assistant use any Apify Actor from the Apify Store as a tool, for scraping social media, search engines, maps and more. Use the hosted endpoint mcp.apify.com via OAuth or API token, or run it locally over stdio. It is pre-configured with the rag-web-browser and web-fetch Actors.
What it does
Where Apify MCP Server runs and what it adds, from its documentation
search-actors and fetch-actor-details: discover Actors and read input schemas
call-actor: run an Actor and return results
Default Actor tools: apify/rag-web-browser and apify/web-fetch
search-apify-docs and fetch-apify-docs: look up Apify documentation
Optional tools for runs, datasets, key-value stores, tasks, schedules and builds
When to use it

Your agent needs scrapers for social media, maps or e-commerce
You want dynamic discovery of thousands of Store Actors
You want to manage Actor runs, tasks and schedules from an agent
Not for

Permissions and security
What it can access
Runs Actors on the Apify platform and reads your runs, datasets and stores; optional tools can create/update/delete tasks and schedules
Security notes from the maintainers
Telemetry (including Sentry error tracking) is enabled by default; opt out with TELEMETRY_ENABLED=false, --telemetry-enabled false, or ?telemetry-enabled=false on the URL
Review the source before granting an agent access to credentials or production systems. We document what the maintainers state; we do not audit code.
Limitations
Direct x402 and Skyfire payments are limited to Pay Per Event Actors and do not support Standby Actors
Dynamic tool discovery support varies by MCP client
