What n8n costs, in plain terms
n8n bills by workflow executions, not by seat. Every plan has unlimited users and workflows, and what changes between plans is the monthly execution cap, the number of concurrent executions and the number of shared projects. Starter and Pro run on n8n Cloud. Business is self-hosted only. Enterprise is custom and can be cloud or self-hosted.
The Community Edition is free, self-hosted and has no execution cap, so your server hardware is the limit. The cheapest paid step, Starter, includes 2,500 executions a month, 5 concurrent executions and 1 shared project. Pro raises that to 10,000 executions, up to 50 concurrent and 3 projects. n8n's pricing page showed these plans in euros; we have not confirmed USD prices, so none are listed here.

Free access and trial
Community Edition (self-hosted, GitHub); cloud trial with Pro-level features for 14 days (1,000 execution limit, 5 concurrent, 180-second timeout)
No credit card required for n8n Cloud trial; 14-day Business plan trial requires credit card
Extra costs and taxes
Assistant credits included monthly; no additional credit purchases available yet; self-hosted n8n uses BYOK (bring your own key) for AI models, no credit model

Costs that are easy to miss
Each cloud plan caps monthly executions (2,500 on Starter, 10,000 on Pro), so high-volume workflows may outgrow a plan.
Assistant credits are included each month and no extra credits can be bought yet.
Self-hosted n8n uses your own API keys for AI models, so model usage is billed by your provider, and server costs are yours.
Taxes are not documented. Enterprise pricing is custom and tied to an annual commitment.

n8n FAQ
What is an execution in n8n?
An execution is a single run of your entire workflow from start to finish, regardless of the number of steps or data processed. Unlike other tools that charge per step or task, n8n charges per execution, making costs more predictable. source (opens in a new tab)
How do Assistant credits work?
Assistant credits (in preview) are included monthly in all n8n Cloud plans except Enterprise. Each plan has a monthly allowance (1,600 on Starter, 9,600 on Pro). Credits are consumed based on usage complexity and refresh monthly; unused credits do not roll over. Additional credits cannot yet be purchased. source (opens in a new tab)
Is the Business plan available on n8n Cloud?
Not yet. The Business plan is currently self-hosted only. n8n is working on a cloud-hosted Business plan; interested users can join the waitlist. source (opens in a new tab)
Is the n8n Pro plan limited to 10,000 executions?
Yes, the documented Pro cap is 10,000 workflow executions per month, with up to 50 concurrent executions and 3 shared projects. Needing more means moving to Business (self-hosted) or Enterprise.
Does n8n Cloud have a free trial?
Yes. The cloud trial has Pro-level features for 14 days, with a 1,000 execution limit, 5 concurrent executions and a 180-second timeout, and needs no credit card. The 14-day Business trial does require a credit card.
Can I get the n8n Business plan on n8n Cloud?
No. Business is self-hosted only. Cloud options are Starter, Pro and Enterprise.
Is the self-hosted Community Edition really unlimited?
It has no cap on executions, users or workflows. Concurrency depends on your server hardware, and it lacks Business features such as SSO and Git version control.
