Image generation · alternatives
Mixels.ai is a pixel art generator, and its limits explain most departures. The free plan includes only 3 AI generation tokens, enough for a short trial. Pro is $12.95 per month and is limited to 300 tokens per month, so heavy sprite work can hit the cap before the month ends. Outputs are typically 32x32 to 128x128, which does not suit work that needs high-resolution artwork. An account is likely needed to save projects. The Studio plan is $99.95 per month.
Midjourney is a subscription image and video generator known for stylized, artistic results. Basic is $10 per month per user, with 3.3 hours of Fast GPU time and no free plan. Leonardo.Ai generates images, video and designs, has a free daily token plan, and its Essential tier is $12 per month with a monthly token allowance (the amount is not verified in our data). Both move you away from small pixel grids toward general image generation, so expect to do more post-processing if you still want a pixel look.
