Video · alternatives
EditBuddy's first drawback is the dependency: it only runs inside Adobe Premiere Pro 2022 or newer, so you need a Premiere subscription as well. Second, AI minutes are capped at 400 (Pro, $19/mo) or 1,000 (Max, $39/mo) per month, and extra minutes mean buying top-ups. Third, there is no free plan after the 7-day trial.
Two alternatives are in our catalog. Descript is a standalone text-based editor with filler-word removal and Studio Sound; it has a free plan and Hobbyist is $16 per editor per month on annual billing, so no Premiere seat is needed. Runway is an AI creative platform for generating and editing video, images and audio, with a free plan and Standard at $15 per user per month. Runway is aimed at generation more than silence and retake cleanup, so Descript is the closer match for talking-head editing.
"Better suited" below is based on documented features and pricing from our verified profiles, not on a head-to-head test. Prices are USD as published by each vendor.
