Linkly AI's free plan limits cloud library usage, so sharing libraries and cloud sync require Pro. Frontier AI models are Pro only, cloud audio and video transcription is listed as coming soon, so only local parsing works for now, and no Team plan price is shown for multi-user setups.
Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) is Google's research partner that answers questions and creates summaries, audio and slides grounded in your own sources. It has a free plan, but its starting paid price is not stated in our data. Perplexity is an answer engine that searches the web with cited sources and has a free plan; the only starting price in our data is Education Pro at $10 per month for verified students and faculty. Neither indexes your local files the way Linkly AI does.
"Better suited" below is based on documented features and pricing from our verified profiles, not on a head-to-head test. Prices are USD as published by each vendor.
Taken from the documented limitations in our Linkly AI profile.
| Tool | Starting price | Free tier | Platforms | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Linkly AI (this page) | $29/yr (Pro) | Yes | Desktop | Die Nutzung der Cloud-Bibliothek ist im Free-Plan begrenzt; Frontier-KI-Modelle gibt es nur im Pro-Plan |
| Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) | Not published | Yes | Web, Mobile | Free tier has standard usage limits and 50 sources per notebook; higher limits need a Google AI Plus, Pro or Ultra plan, which Google says are only available in specific regions. |
| Perplexity | $10/mo (Education Pro (consumer, verified students/faculty)) | Yes | Web, API | The consumer pricing page is blocked to automated checks, so the Pro price could not be confirmed here, and free-tier Pro Search and Research access are described only as 'very limited' / 'limited'. |
