Extensions are the things you plug into an AI coding agent: MCP servers that give it tools and data, skills and plugins that package workflows, and rules files that set how it should behave in a repository. This index covers 116 of them, each documented from its official repository or docs, with install steps, the permissions it asks for, and known limits.
Pick your host above to see what works with it: Claude Code has the widest set (84), followed by Cursor (32), Windsurf and OpenAI Codex (14 each) and Gemini CLI (9). MCP servers marked "any MCP client" run in all of them.

por Google
Gemini CLI extensions package prompts, MCP servers, commands, themes, hooks, sub-agents and skills; installed from GitHub.
por Google
Context files named GEMINI.md that give Gemini CLI project instructions, personas and style guides on every prompt.
por Model Context Protocol
Reference MCP server with tools to read, search and change Git repositories: status, diff, log, commit, branch.
por GitHub
Repository custom instructions for GitHub Copilot: .github/copilot-instructions.md, path-specific files and AGENTS.md.
por GitHub
GitHub's official MCP server for reading repos, managing issues and PRs, and monitoring Actions from AI tools.
por Grafana Labs
Official Grafana MCP server: dashboards, datasources, Prometheus, Loki, alerting, incidents and more for AI agents.
por Hugging Face
Official Hugging Face MCP server: connect an LLM to the Hub and Gradio Spaces, hosted at huggingface.co/mcp or run locally.
por Anthropic
Helps write internal communications such as 3P updates, newsletters, FAQs, status reports and incident reports.
por Anthropic
Kotlin language server for Claude Code: code intelligence and diagnostics for .kt files.
por Anthropic
SessionStart hook that makes Claude ask you to write 5-10 lines at decision points and share educational insights.
por Linear
Linear's hosted MCP server for finding, creating and updating issues, projects and comments.
por Make
Make-hosted MCP server that lets AI clients run Make scenarios and manage your Make account.
por Anthropic
Solves competition math (IMO, Putnam, USAMO) with context-isolated adversarial proof verification.
por Anthropic
Two skills for research-level math: solo (single session) and siege (hours of judge and worker sub-agents), ending in proof.md.
por Anthropic
Three skills for designing and building MCP servers: remote HTTP, MCP apps with UI widgets, and MCPB packaging.
por Anthropic
Walks you through connecting Claude to a private MCP server via an Anthropic MCP tunnel using Docker Compose.
por Anthropic
Guide for building high-quality MCP servers in Python (FastMCP) or Node/TypeScript so LLMs can use external APIs.
por Model Context Protocol
Reference MCP server giving agents persistent memory as a local knowledge graph of entities, relations and observations.
por Microsoft
Free remote MCP server giving AI assistants search and fetch access to official Microsoft Learn docs and code samples.
49 MCP servers, 42 plugins, 19 skills and 6 rules files. Each entry records the author (official vendor or community), the hosts it supports, the transport and authentication it needs, and whether it is maintained or deprecated.
An MCP server exposes tools and data over the Model Context Protocol and works in any host that speaks it. A skill or plugin is host-specific and bundles prompts, commands and sometimes an MCP server. A rules file (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, .cursor/rules) is plain text the agent reads before working. The explainer on what an MCP server is goes deeper.
We read the README, the install instructions and the permission list in the official repository and record them as stated. Deprecated or archived repositories are labelled. Community entries are marked as such and are not endorsed.
Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI and GitHub Copilot, plus MCP servers that work in any MCP client.
Each entry says who published it. 114 of 116 come from the vendor or the official project; community entries are labelled.
It depends on the extension. The entry lists the authentication it requires, such as an API key, OAuth or none.
Each entry shows the install step for its hosts. The MCP servers hub has a comparison table by transport, auth and host.
